Qisetna (قصتنا): Talking Syria is an online platform to preserve the Oral Heritage of Syrians displaced inside their country, on the move crossing borders, and resettling across Europe. Storytelling is profoundly rooted within the Arab Culture. Through this project currently developed by Syrians themselves, we aim for an inclusive space in which Syrians share their stories and narratives with us. Qisetna (قصتنا): Talking Syria was initiated by delGado in 2013.
In his recent works, delGado’s method juxtaposes measured photography of landscapes with personal narratives about people whose mobility is limited either by physical impairment, political obstruction, and financial or emotional constraints. Trauma and resilience dominate their world, a counterpoint to the sublime natural beauty all around them. delGado’s preoccupation to explore ideas about displacement, territory and identity, has taken him to places such Colombia, Palestine, Morocco, Sweden, Turkey and more. Searching for stories of individuals who are confronted with issues relating to freedom and movement.
Recent works include Altered Landscapes (2016) which presents a European subject wandering the deserted streets and harbour of Athens recounting how his body has started to change due to an unusual disease. In his search for a cure, wider existential questions come to surface.
Since his graduation in Media Arts at University of Westminster in 2001, delGado has produced a wide range of works in photography, moving image and installation. His work has been exhibited internationally, including: Tampere Film Festival, Finland; Mardin Biennial, Turkey; National Portrait Gallery, London; Clandestino Festival, Sweden; Adelaide Film Festival, Australia; Turner Contemporary, Margate; Calgary Film Festival, Canada, End of the World Biennial, Argentina; Birzeit Ethnography Museum, Palestine; National Gallery, Scotland.

ورشة عمل مع خوان ديلغادو و مشاركون من قصتنا : منصة سرد القصص، سوريا تتحدث
قصتنا: سوريا تتحدث منصة على الانترنت لحفظ الإرث المحكي للسّوريّينالمهجّرين داخل بلدهم، الذين على الطريق يعبرون الحدود، و الذين يستقرون ضمن أوروبا. سرد القصص متجذّر في الثقافة العربية و من خلال هذا المشروع المطوّر من قبل السوريين أنفسهم نهدف لخلق مساحة شاملة يستطيع عبرها السوريون مشاركتنا قصصهم و حكاياتهم. قصتنا: سوريا تتحدث تم إنشاؤها من قِبل ديلغادو في 2013.
في أعماله الأخيرة دمجت طريقة ديلغادو تصوير المناظر الطبيعية المقاس مع الحكايات الشخصية لأناس تحدّدت حركتهم إما لضعف جسدي، حواجز سياسية، أو قيود مالية أو عاطفية، حيث سيطرت الصدمة و المرونة على عالمهم كنقيض للجمال الطبيعي السامي المحيط بهم. التزام ديلغادو باستكشاف أفكارٍ عن النزوح، المنطقة و الهويّة أخذه إلى أماكن ككولومبيا، فلسطين، المغرب، السويد، تركيا و الكثير غيرها؛ بحثاً عن قصص أفراد واجهتهم قضايا تتعلق بالحرية و الحركة.
الأعمال الأخيرة تتضمّن Altered Landscape (2016) الذي يَعرُض شخصا أوروبيّا يجول الشوارع المهجورة و الميناء في أثينا، يستذكر كيف بدأ جسده بالتغير نتيجة مرض غير عادي. خلال بحثه عن علاج تطفوا أسئلة أكثر وجوديّة على السطح.
منذ تخرّجه من فنون الإعلام من جامعة ويستمنستر عام 2001، أنتج ديلغادومجالاً واسعاً من الأعمال في مجال التصوير، الصورة المتحركة و التركيب. عُرِضت أعماله عالميّاً، على سبيل المثال في: مهرجان الأفلام تامبر، فنلندا؛ مهرجان ماردين بايأنييل المقام كل سنتين، تركيا؛ معرض اللّوحات الوطني، لندن؛ مهرجان كالنديستينو، السويد؛ مهرجان أديلايد للأفلام، أستراليا؛ تورنر للفن المعاصر، مارغيت؛ مهرجان كالغاري للأفلام، كندا؛ مهرجان نهاية العالم بايأنييل المقام كل سنتين، الأرجنتين؛ متحف بيرزيت للتصوير العرقي، فلسطين؛ المعرض الوطني، اسكتلندا.
